In order to ensure DPS is prepared for students to have Chromebooks at the start of next school year, all students must return their Chromebook and charger at the end of the school year - there are no exceptions to this.
If a student needs a hotspot over the summer, they will be allowed to keep the one that is assigned to them. If they no longer need a hotspot, it must be turned in, along with the charger.
Graduating seniors must turn in all of their equipment.
Schools will collect and inspect Chromebooks and hotspots when they are turned in. As per the district Device Agreement, if there is damage to a device, charger, or hotspot, or an assigned device, charger, or hotspot is not returned, a fee will be added to the student’s MySchoolBucks account.
Additionally, Chromebooks and hotspots may be available for check out at your local Denver Public Library. Qualifying families may be eligible to purchase low-cost technology options through PCs for People for home use. Students attending DPS-provided summer programming will have access to a Chromebook in their school building.
DPS will host 2 community meetings on Zoom starting today to gather input and inform the Board of Directors as they make a decision about Map Scenarios A, B, and C. For more information, please visit https://www.dpsk12.org/page/balancing-board-districts.
