Our DPS Weekly: The Power of Inclusion

"It’s an expectation they participate in everything." – Blake Hammond, Principal of Green Valley Elementary School, in this Chalkbeat Colorado story on his school’s inclusion program for students with disabilities.

Celebrating the Importance of Black History

February is Black History Month, which is a time to honor the long-standing legacy of African Americans who have made an impact in Denver, our schools and our country. Throughout the district, events and programs will be held to recognize their contributions and remember their stories.

As DPS embeds a districtwide focus on equity in everything we do, we encourage the lessons and conversations happening in our classrooms throughout Black History Month to continue throughout the entire year. We invite you to celebrate and learn with us. Follow along on Facebook and Twitter as we honor members of the DPS community throughout the month!
