Have you applied — or are planning to apply — to an ECE-4 program? Here’s what you need to know.

If you Submitted your UPK Application by Feb. 2

  1. If you were notified by Feb. 25 that you were matched to a school, you must accept or decline your match by March 6.

  2. If UPK did not notify you of a school match by Feb. 25, you were not matched to a school. Your application and the ranked schools you chose will automatically roll into the second matching round, and the results of that lottery will be released on March 24.

    • If you do not want to change your school rankings, no action is needed. (Do not submit another UPK application.)

    • If you do want to add, remove or reorder schools, call UPK at 303-866-5223 to unlock your application. Once unlocked, make your updates and resubmit.

If You Did Not Submit your UPK Application by Feb. 2

If you missed the first matching round deadline (Feb. 2), we highly recommend that you submit your UPK application by March 15 for the best chance of being matched to your preferred school.

  • Match notifications will be sent on March 24.

  • Families must accept or decline their match by March 31.

What to Do After the Second Matching Round

If you miss the first two UPK matching rounds, were not matched in either round, or want to apply to a different program, you will need to submit a DPS SchoolChoice Round 2 application (not a UPK application) beginning April 1 at 10 a.m.

SchoolChoice Round 2 applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis within school admission priorities.

  • If the school has available space, your student will be offered a seat, and you’ll have 72 hours to accept or decline.

  • If no seats are available, your student will be added to the waitlist.
