Today, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) released 2024-25 graduation, dropout and completion data based results. For the fourth year in a row, we have once again set a record for our highest four-year graduation rate. This is the fourth consecutive year that DPS has attained an all-time high under the current calculation methodology.

“I am incredibly proud to celebrate a monumental milestone for Denver Public Schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero. “To establish a new record high mark for the fourth year in a row isn’t just a statistic; it is a testament to our philosophy of 'getting better at getting better.' But, while DPS celebrates being 'Green' with success, we remain dedicated to the work that lies ahead. Our mission is to ensure that this success is shared equitably all across Denver. We are closing gaps. We are opening doors. And, we will continue to ensure that every DPS graduate is not only handed a diploma, but is truly prepared for college or career.”

The four-year graduation rate for the DPS class of 2025 increased by 2% points to 81.9% over the previous year. That is the highest year-over-year jump since the 2006-07 graduation years.

The five-year graduation rate increased 0.8% to 83.7%, and the six-year graduation rate improved 1.9% to 82.4%.

The four-year graduation rate increased for Black or African-American students (up 3.9%) and Hispanic or Latino students (up 2.6%).

“Behind every percentage point is a student who persevered, a family that supported them and an educator who refused to give up on their potential,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Tony Smith. “To the Class of 2025, you have set a new standard of excellence and to Team DPS, thank you for your relentless dedication to our scholars. Together, we are proving that when we center equity and student experience, there is no limit to what Denver’s children can achieve.”
