Oakland Elementary was recently recognized as part of the growing celebration of educators across Denver Public Schools. During Channel 9 News’ coverage of the DPS Teacher Tag-In Program and Oakland’s innovative Teacher Appreciation Celebration, one of Oakland’s own teachers, Mr. Lenard Gonzalez, was highlighted for the incredible work happening within our school community.
In addition, Denver Public Schools featured Oakland in its Teacher Tag-In highlight video, showcasing the school’s Teacher Appreciation Celebration. Staff members were invited to spend a full hour celebrating together in the library, which was transformed into a restaurant-style celebration space designed to honor and uplift the team.
These recognitions reflect the strong culture of joy, teamwork, and dedication that Oakland staff bring to students and families every day. Oakland continues to build a supportive and vibrant community where educators feel valued, celebrated, and connected.
