Dear Bromwell Families,
Happy October! As a native east coaster, I naturally love the fall. Crisp air, pumpkin spice, and of course the changing leaves. 9 years later and Colorado’s weather still amazes me. Unpredictable, in the best way.
And as we settle into predictability here at Bromwell, I’m grateful for the partnerships we've created as a community. Our student leaders lived the value of BRAVE today at the student council elections, families came out to support our Let’s Build Bromwell whole school photo, and staff are digging into data and internationally planning at the student level.
Below is a snapshot of our Beginning-of-Year (BOY) literacy data. I will go more into detail about this data and how it relates to our school’s goals in my first State of the Den, coming in November. The State of the Den will include a comprehensive BOY snapshot of Bromwell, including academic and attendance data.
Beginning-of-Year (BOY) Literacy Data
This past Monday, during our dedicated professional development day, our teachers and staff spent intentional time analyzing our Beginning-of-Year DIBELS assessment data. Overall across K–5th grade, 72% of our Bears are reading At or Above benchmark!
Supporting the Whole Child: Bullying Prevention Month
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. At Bromwell, intentional social-emotional learning is core to our mission. We actively teach and reinforce expectations through our PAWS system, which include Bear Bucks, PAW Assemblies, and community meetings.
Resources for Home: We encourage families to explore Bromwell's Bullying Prevention Policy and to partner with us in reinforcing kindness, inclusion, and digital citizenship at home.
