Monday’s winter weather makes this a great time to get back up-to-speed on DPS weather procedures.

Our top goal – make district closure or delay announcements as early as possible so you can prepare your family for your day. We strive to announce any changes in our schools’ operating schedules by 5 a.m.

Once a decision is made to close or delay school, we post the information on our homepage at, social media (Facebook and Twitter) and send automated calls to families.

Continuing this year is the weather delay schedule for identified schools, which will impact schools starting at 8:30 a.m. or later if a weather delay is necessary. To confirm whether your school is among those impacted by potential weather delays, please see this list for 2017-18.
