The School Performance Framework, or SPF, measures many important aspects of what we know makes a great school – such as how satisfied students and parents are, how much students have improved their scores on state tests from year to year, and how well the school serves and challenges all of its students.
The SPF is like a report card for schools, letting us know where a school is making progress and where we need to focus on improving. Our school report card puts special emphasis on student academic growth, or how much progress students have made from one year to the next. In DPS, we believe what is most important is not where kids start, but how much they grow.
Understanding how well schools are serving students and families is a key part of how we will reach our Denver Plan 2020 goal of Great Schools in Every Neighborhood. Watch the video to learn more about the SPF and how we use it to monitor and support schools.
The SPF is part of our efforts to achieve our top Denver Plan 2020 goal: Great Schools in Every Neighborhood. Please visit greatschools.dpsk12.org to learn more about how we support all schools.
