Volunteer and Make a Difference at George Washington High School

Nov. 19, 2016

Are you feeling the need to take action and make a positive difference in the lives of DPS students?

George Washington High School is seeking adult volunteers for the Patriot Pairs mentoring program. Students in the program come from low-income households, and their parents did not attend a four-year college. Volunteers are preferably those who have college degrees, and are asked to meet with students weekly for 90 minutes. Students and mentors typically meet from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday mornings, however some meet at other times that are convenient to their respective schedules.

The George Washington HS staff provides training and support to all mentors. For those interested in becoming a mentor, or who would like more information, please contact Caren Press at carenpress@gmail.com or visit patriotpairs.weebly.com.
