On Tuesday, March 14, DPS leaders, educators, families and community members celebrated the “Topping-off” Ceremony to mark the completion of one of the final projects made possible through more than $500 million from the voter-approved 2012 bond.

The “topping-off” ceremony commemorated the completion of McGlone Academy, a high-performing elementary through middle school located in Far Northeast Denver. The project included a 12,428 square ft. addition, 10 new classrooms, a parking lot expansion and 21st-century building and playground upgrades.

Attendees made their permanent mark on the school by signing their names onto a steel beam in the new addition. The event included remarks made by Board of Education Member Rachele Espiritu, Superintendent Tom Boasberg and McGlone Principal Sara Gips.
