Jennifer Sonheim

Jennifer Sonheim

“Mrs. Sonheim always goes above and beyond to help all students, not just those on her caseload or those in her class. Every year she pushes into a general education English class and helps provide extra support for any students struggling, but especially those with disabilities. She helps English teachers come up with differentiated supports when we are struggling to help our students, helps us create alternative assignments, leads teacher trainings on best practices for students with IEP’s and 504’s and provides much needed social/emotional support for students and staff. Mrs. Sonheim even runs a “lunch club” in her classroom every day during lunch so that students who struggle with social skills have a welcoming place to be at lunch, where they watch movies, chat and form friendships. She is a mentor to new teachers and the friendliest face in the halls of TJ.”
