Counselors Help Students Reach for the Stars

Feb. 5, 2018

School Counselor Appreciation Week

National School Counseling Week is Feb. 5-9. This year’s theme is “School Counselors: Helping Students Reach for the Stars.”

Denver Public Schools’ counselors work tirelessly to help students create goals and uncover their passions as they navigate college and career options, fill out scholarship applications, prepare for the SAT college entrance exam, connect them with resources along with supporting their social/emotional needs.

Because of their work, DPS students are healthier, happier and achieving their dreams.

To focus attention on the unique contribution that school counselors make, National School Counseling Week is sponsored annually by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) to highlight the impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
