Tim Summers, a nearly 20-year member of Team DPS, died unexpectedly Feb. 15.
Tim worked on the Department of Technology Services (DoTS) development team as a user-interface and user-experience designer, making many of our technology projects easier for our team members and families to use.
“Tim’s body of work in his 18 years at DPS is outstanding,” said Josh Allen, who supervised Tim’s work during much of his time here. “He designed and implemented multiple versions of the DPS website, as well as many school and department websites.”
Throughout his career with DPS, Tim received many awards and accolades for his designs. In 2003, the National School Public Relations Association recognized Tim’s work and the district received the group’s annual award for our website. He also received individual recognition that year for designing the district’s “Read One Million Words” campaign, our district maps for school choice as well as the DPS Today newsletter and annual report.
Outside of work, Tim was an accomplished musician who produced two albums under his band name Coma Nine. His love for his limited edition 2015 Black Chevy Camaro was well-known, and he was an avid soccer fan, supporting Arsenal.
Tim’s family will be hosting a private memorial service in Albuquerque. Please share your memories of Tim with them by adding to this online tribute wall.
