Officer Francisco Alba Receives NASRO Regional Service Award
Jul. 14, 2020
The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) presented its Regional Service Award to Denver Police School Resource Officer Francisco Alba. He has served as a school resource officer (SRO) on both the Manual campus and at Bruce Randolph for the past few years. The annual award recognizes an SRO for continuous and sustained service to the school community above and beyond that expected of a normal SRO or school staff member.
Officer Alba has two Master’s Degrees and a teaching certification with the state. In addition to performing the normal duties of an SRO in an exemplary manner, he also teaches criminal justice classes at both schools that offers students credit towards their education. Alba does not receive compensation for this work and truly believes in our DPS Shared Value of Putting Students First.
“Alba has been a valuable asset to our school district and to the Denver Police Department,” said Chief Michael Eaton, head of the Denver Public Schools Department of Safety. “He is a great role model, positive mentor and friend to many students and educators and has built strong relationships in our schools.”
Officer Alba was selected for Region 10, which covers six states in this part of the country, including all of Colorado.
