Munroe Celebrates Unity Day! Together Against Bullying! UNITY DAY was Wednesday, October 25th around the world. Munroe Elementary was united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. Because we care about a safe and supportive school and community, everyone could wear ORANGE on Unity Day! We were sending one large message of support, hope, and unity to show that we are standing together against bullying and united for kindness! A ‘Unity Tree’ was created in our lobby with student-made leaf messages of ‘how can I show kindness to others at Munroe.’ Lesson plans/videos for the week included learning opportunities and options for engaging activities to get students talking about bullying. All students received fun orange sunglasses to wear on Unity Day! From our staff: It’s important our students know they are not alone and that they have the right to feel safe. By joining together and wearing ORANGE on Unity Day, we were sending the unified message that we care about student’s physical and emotional health and that bullying will no longer be accepted in our school, community and society. It was a good day to remind our students and staff to ‘Be Good to Each Other.’ We are UNITED as a school – united for kindness, united against bullying!
