5 to 6 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 30
Tune in to EDUCA Radio 1090-AM
EDUCA Radio will speak with Jane Lineman, Ph.D. with the Denver Public Schools (DPS) Social Work and Psychological Services team to talk about suicide prevention strategies, alarming statistics, warning signs and resources for families.
National Suicide Prevention Month helps raise awareness and provide resources on how to talk about suicide within the community. Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone, and is the second leading cause of death among young people. Suicide is often the result of mental health conditions that effect people when they are most vulnerable, and these behaviors should not be considered common and can indicate more serious issues.
Visit www.thesecondwindfund.org to access resources in English and Spanish for families, or contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number at 1-800-273-8255 for more information.
Join the conversation by sending questions or comments via text message to 720-961-3775, or post on the EDUCA Radio Facebook page. Participants will qualify to win a family pass for four to the Denver Botanic Gardens.
