Steele Rocketry Students Celebrate Retiring Teacher with Cosmic Send-Off

Denver – Students at Denver Public Schools’ (DPS) Steele Elementary are celebrating their stellar rocketry teacher, Ralph Sodano, as he prepares to retire at the end of the school year, with one final rocket launch tomorrow at Washington Park. Coinciding with Mr. Sodano’s retirement is the closing of Steele’s planetarium this summer.

While Steele’s beloved rocket launches are traditionally just attended by the fourth graders in the school’s rocketry classes, hundreds of second- through fifth-grade students will be journeying across Washington Park for what is slated to be their biggest and most enthusiastic rocket launch ever.

Interview opportunities will be available.
