Tune in to EDUCA Radio 1090-AM

During this segment, EDUCA Radio will host a special English show to visit with Nick Dawkins, Manual High School principal, and student leaders to talk about the changes taking place on campus.

Manual High School is one of the oldest schools in Denver Public Schools. The original building opened its doors in 1892, and it was also one of the first schools in Denver to educate African-Americans and women. Manual was a model of educational excellence, but saw dropping test scores when the school district ended integrated busing. In 2006, after several failed attempts to transform the school, Manual High School was closed. The school reopened in 2007, and has gone through five administration changes in the last eight years. Today the school is led by Dawkins and his team of highly-dedicated educators. Learn more at manual.dpsk12.org.

Join the conversation by sending questions or comments via text message to 720-961-3775, or post on the EDUCA Radio Facebook page. Participants will qualify to win tickets to watch the Colorado Rockies take on the St. Louis Cardinals on Sept. 20.
