Allen Smith, Chief of the Culture, Equity and Leadership Team will be talking about these different opportunities on his EDUCA radio show throughout October. Tune in to EDUCA Radio from 3-4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 to hear from CareerConnect’s Emily Takimoto and one of our own DPS students as we discuss the innovative DPS CareerConnect Apprenticeship Program, offered in partnership with CareerWise Colorado. This apprenticeship program is an immersive, three-year experience in which high school students actually work for a company while attending school!
Denver Public Schools’ vision that Every Child Succeeds starts with the belief that all students, from the very first day they walk into a DPS school, can achieve at the highest levels and ultimately cross the graduation stage ready for college, careers and life. One of the five goals in the district’s strategic plan — the Denver Plan 2020 — is to ensure our students graduate college-and career-ready through rigorous coursework and high standards. The CareerConnect program represents one of the district’s strongest strategies toward college and career success.
