Dr. Alex Marrero Selected as DPS Superintendent

Dr. Alex Marrero has been selected by the Denver Board of Education as the next superintendent of Denver Public Schools. He joins DPS from the City School District of New Rochelle, New York where he currently serves as interim superintendent. Dr. Marrero’s appointment follows a five month, nationwide superintendent search. School leaders, teachers, students and community members were among those who interviewed Dr. Marrero throughout the process. A full vote by the Denver Board of Education on Dr. Marrero’s appointment is anticipated on June 3, 2021.
