DENVER — Denver Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Alex Marrero has been chosen as President-Elect for the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) at the 19th Annual National ALAS Education Summit. Dr. Marrero has served on the ALAS Board of Directors as Treasurer since October 2021 and will begin his role as President-Elect immediately.
“I am honored to have been selected as the President-Elect for this wonderful organization,” said Dr. Marrero. “Serving on the Board of Directors is a great way to connect with, and learn from, these wonderful Latino leaders.”
The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents is committed to providing a perspective to all aspiring school and district administrators including superintendents through programs, services, advocacy, and networks rooted in Latino experiences and culture. With more than 8,000 members across 18 states and counting, ALAS is positioned to provide leadership at the national level that assures every school in America effectively serves the educational needs of all students with an emphasis on Latino youth through continuous professional learning, policy advocacy, and networking to share practices of promise for students and the communities where members serve.
