Students Spend Day of College Exploration on Denver’s Auraria Campus

Denver – To better prepare Denver Public Schools’ (DPS) students for success after graduation, DPS is hosting the annual Ninth Grade College Expo on March 20 at the Auraria Campus.

One of the five goals in the Denver Plan 2020, DPS’ five-year strategic plan, is to ensure students graduate from high school college-and-career-ready. Designed to expose students to college at a younger age, the expo offers an exciting day of college exploration highlighting signature programs. Ninth-graders will have the opportunity to meet faculty, staff and students and visualize college campus life.

Because of the unique design of the Auraria Campus, ninth-graders will learn about three institutions of higher education, Metropolitan State College of Denver, University of Colorado Denver and Community College of Denver. Students will participate in hands-on opportunities including a variety of tours, student panels, resource fairs and other activities throughout the day.

Student interview opportunities in English and Spanish will be available. Please call to arrange.
