Dear Families,
We announced Wednesday evening, following Governor Polis’ order to suspend in-person learning through Friday, April 17, that DPS is moving to remote learning for the district beginning Tuesday, April 7.
Yesterday, we met with all district principals to discuss options for remote learning, including a digital instruction option. We would like to know what technology you have in your home so that we can launch remote learning successfully. Please complete this short survey by noon on Tuesday, March 24. You will need to complete the survey for each DPS student in your household.
Next week, starting on Wednesday, March 25, families who do not have technology at home will be able to pick up district technology at their school. We will share more information about how this pick up will work early next week. Please know that we will be following the same safety and social distancing protocols that are in place at our food distribution sites.
Xfinity WiFi hotspots are free nationwide for anyone who needs them – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. Once near a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser. Click here to view the Xfinity WiFi Hotspot map.
Thank you for the support and feedback,
Mark Ferrandino, Deputy Superintendent of Operations
Michael Ramirez, Deputy Superintendent of Schools
