DPS’ Sharyn Guhman, chief information officer with our Department of Technology Services (DoTS) team, was recognized for her service and support of public education at the 2017 Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) Annual Academic, Information Technology and Research Conference in Pittsburgh last week.
Guhman was presented with the 2017 Distinguished Service Award for representing the ideals of leadership, innovation, commitment and professionalism in her role.
“Sharyn has been an exemplary values-driven leader during her time as CIO, focusing on providing outstanding service from DoTS to our schools, teachers and central leaders, aligning our technology work with the instructional priorities of DPS, and bringing passion every day to serving our students,” said David Suppes, DPS’ chief operating officer.
The annual CGCS conference gathers 68 of the nation’s largest urban public school systems dedicated to the improvement of education for children. Guhman was selected for the recognition from a field of K-12 chief information officers from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami-Dade, Houston and many more cities.
