Every year, dozens of DPS schools host a Thanksgiving lunch for families and students to congregate in our cafeterias and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the Food & Nutrition Services team.
On Nov. 16, the Denver Nuggets visited Bradley International to help host a special Thanksgiving lunch. Students and families enjoyed roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and fresh fruit. Former Denver Nuggets players Mark Randall, Ervin Johnson and Walter Davis helped serve Thanksgiving meals to over 200 guests and even had the opportunity to enjoy lunch themselves.
“We’re here to support DPS, the teachers and these kids and families [at Bradley Elementary],” said Randall. “There’s nothing better that we can do than to come out to support the community that supported us for so long.”
“Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude and I am very grateful to work for the Nuggets, to be out in the community serving the kids and trying to make the world a better place,” added Johnson.
Although the lunch was holiday themed, it was prepared the same way we serve lunch meals everyday – scratch-cooked and made with fresh ingredients.
Thank you to the Denver Nuggets who helped serve lunch and brighten our students’ day!
