Denver Health DPS Data Dashboard Update: October 20, 2020

SPEAKER: Dr. Seth Foldy, Public Health Specialist, Denver Health

“There has been a continued increase in COVID cases – both across Denver, across Colorado, and across the nation – the past week, that seems to be broadly affecting many populations, many age groups.

We were experiencing some outbreaks in college-aged students a couple of weeks ago. That has continued to some extent, but there is more spread of COVID among other populations – primarily older populations than college students over the last couple of weeks.

Fortunately, at this point we are still seeing fairly… fairly low rates, case counts, and case rates per population, of COVID in younger populations. Particularly in the zero to nine age group. We’re seeing less than half a case per thousand youngsters of that age.

Also, in the 10-19 age group, relatively low rates in our community.”
