Today, Dec. 17, the Denver Board of Education will convene to discuss and vote on the appointment of DPS’ next superintendent. The public meeting will be held from 4:30-5 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Emily Griffith Campus, first floor multipurpose room, 1860 Lincoln St.

At a community meeting at George Washington High School on Tuesday Dec. 11, dozens of families, students and educators had the opportunity to meet with superintendent finalist Susana Cordova, the current deputy superintendent in Denver Public Schools. Cordova answered several questions from the community, touching on a variety of topics including teacher compensation, culturally responsive education, eliminating the opportunity gap for African-American and Latino students, and supporting students’ social and emotional well-being. A short video recap of the meeting is available on Vimeo. The entire community meeting is also available for viewing on DPStv22’s livestream channel.
