At DPS, in Denver and across the nation, we are honoring the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. The 38th annual Denver Marade – a march and parade – is in person this year and will continue long-standing traditions supported by the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Colorado Holiday Commission. The Marade program to honor Dr. King will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the MLK Jr. statue in City Park on Monday, Jan. 16. The march itself will kick off at 10:45 a.m. where participants will march together to Civic Center Park. Wear your DPS gear and meet at City Park at the MLK Jr. statue at 9 a.m.!
The annual MLK Jr. African-American Heritage Rodeo is set for Monday, Jan. 16. The history and heritage of America’s black cowboys will be celebrated with pro rodeo events including bronc riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, mutton bustin’, ladies’ steer un-decorating and more.
