In a continued step in financial transparency and accountability, DPS is excited to release the 2018-19 Budget Transparency Guidebook: School Support Services. Earlier this year, we released the first Budget Transparency Guidebook — which shared details about how we allocate funds to our school support teams and the services they provide. In this second edition, we included an additional layer of information — outlining our other recurring sources of funding, which results in approximately $169 million of additional revenue. The majority of these funds are spent in our schools to support programs including athletics, before-and afterschool programs, food and nutrition services, and more.

We believe the DPS budget reflects our priorities and values as a district — and when the community has a greater understanding of the budget, we can have more robust and honest conversations that will lead to districtwide improvements. We welcome feedback on the guidebook and any of our budget choices. Please email your comments and questions to guidebook@dpsk12.org. More information, including school-specific budgets, is available on our financial transparency website.
