On Tuesday, officers from the Denver Police Department met with hundreds of students at Force Elementary School to promote safety.
Police were joined by members of the DPS Department of Safety, along with the City of Denver and school officials, as they participated in the five-hour long “Safety Day Expo.”
The guides spent time outdoors providing safety information to approximately 400 1st- through 5th-grade students and their families. One information station taught crosswalk and street crossing safety. One area shared information on bicycle safety. And a third location shared details about seat belts and car seats, along with school drop off safety.
The “Safety Day Expo” highlighted the importance of preventing accidents that could result from a lack of awareness.
