Denver School of the Arts (DSA) is the only comprehensive arts magnet school in the Rocky Mountain region. Founded in 1991, the sixth through twelfth grade school provides many unique opportunities for our 630 students to nurture their creative talents in a supportive environment designed to encourage artistic and academic excellence.

In addition to a challenging and rigorous academic schedule, students select a major in one of the following areas: Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Stagecraft/ Design, Video Cinema Arts, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music. Academic opportunities for students include the Gifted and Talented Program, Internet access, advanced placement classes, distance learning classes, and CU Succeeds.

DSA students are some of the state's finest developing artists and performers. To be admitted, students must audition annually. Since the school's inception our students have posted the highest standardized test scores in the city and 95% of our students have moved on to colleges or conservatories.
