Policy BDG- School Attorney/Legal Services
As the need arises, the Board of Education shall appoint an attorney or attorneys for such terms and at such salaries as may be mutually agreed.
The attorney shall:
1. Represent the district, the Board and such officers and employees of the district as the Board shall direct in all proceedings at law to which they or any of them shall be a party
2. Advise the Board, the Superintendent, the secretary and the treasurer on matters pertaining to the business of the district when requested
3. File with the secretary a copy of each written opinion given in response to any such request when so directed
4. Attend regular and special meetings of the Board when requested by the president or a member of the Board
An assistant attorney may perform any of the functions of the attorney unless otherwise directed by the Board.
