Fairmont Elementary School Open House

DESCRIPTION: Fairmont Dual Immersion Academy invites all prospective parents to its annual open house January 25th at 9:30 AM or 1:30 PM. We will host a coffee, tours and a question answer session at both times. Groups of students will "bring the classroom" on stage to give prospective families and idea of what dual immersion is all about. We are an English/Spanish program. As students become proficient in reading and writing in their native language we begin the transition to the second language increasing the percentage of time in all subject areas in their second language. By fourth grade it is our hope that every student is receiving 50% of their instruction in their native language and 50% in their second language. Our goal is that every student graduating from the eighth grade will be bilingual, bi-literate and bicultural. Students will develop positive cross cultural attitudes and a global perspective helping prepare them to be competitive high school students.
