WHERE: Brown International Academy
2550 Lowell Blvd., Community Room
WHEN: Monday, Thursday, January 17, 2008 / 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
DESCRIPTION: Come learn about a high-quality, internationally-minded education option in northwest Denver! Brown International Academy will be holding an informational evening about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. With school choice, ECE and Kindergarten application deadlines looming, don't miss this opportunity to learn about IB and how it is being applied at one of our neighborhood schools. Brown's IB Coordinator, Amy Highsmith, will provide a visually engaging, information-filled presentation about IB, while highlighting several examples of projects students are currently pursuing at Brown. The presentation will be held in the Brown Community Room in the school's basement. Light refreshments will be provided, and a kid's Activity Corner will have coloring books and crayons for any children who attend. Brown International Academy's mission is to empower learners to question, wonder, risk, care and act in the global community. The school fosters the growth of internationally minded people and creates positive attitudes about learning. By exploring themes of global significance melded with the Colorado State education standards, Brown delivers a strong academic core curriculum, while providing room for children to learn and grow in a nurturing environment. The DPS school offers programming for students in ECE (starting at age 4) through 5th grade.
