GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR NEWLON ELEMENTARY ADDITION IS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2

A groundbreaking ceremony for classroom additions at Newlon Elementary School will be held Thursday, December 2, at 9:30 a.m. Newlon is located at 361 Vrain St.

Members of the Denver Board of Education, district officials and representatives from the school's Construction Advisory Committee are all expected to join in marking the construction of the additional classrooms.

The eight classrooms are scheduled for completion in time to start the 2000-2001 school year. Projected cost of the addition is $2.36 million. This one of many projects being built with proceeds from the $305 million bond, approved by voters in 1998.
