NEW GRASS PLAYGROUNDS AT BROMWELL ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL WILL BE DEDICATED MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1

Denver Public Schools and City of Denver officials will help dedicate the renovation of athletic fields and school grounds at Bromwell Elementary School on Monday, November 1. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m.

DPS Superintendent Chip Zullinger and Board of Education President Sue Edwards will join Phil Hernandez, Director of the Mayor's Office for Education and Children, in the dedication ceremony.

The newly sodded fields include an irrigation system, backstop and soccer goal posts. The improvements were financed with the City and County of Denver's 1998 Neighborhood Bond Program. In all, 20 schools (18 middle schools and two elementary schools) will receive athletic field improvements at a cost of $5.9 million.

"This is a great example of the city of Denver, Denver Public Schools and the Bromwell parent community partnering for a project that benefits the whole neighborhood," said Bromwell principal Frank Bingham.

Key individuals and companies that contributed to the success of the Bromwell project included Tom Jump, Jump Design Company; Wayne M. Brown and George Schaffler, W.M. Brown Construction Corp.; Nurseries, Inc.; and members of the Bromwell Community Advisory Committee.

Bromwell Elementary School is located at 2500 E. 4th Ave. The school's telephone number is 303-388-5969.
