DENISON MONTESSORI TO HOST GRANDSON OF MAHATMA GANDHI

Arund Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, and his wife, Sananda Gandhi, will visit Denison Montessori Thursday, February 25, to celebrate the "Season for Nonviolence."

The 64-day Season for Nonviolence runs from January 30-April 4 and commemorates the memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Gandhis, founders of the M. K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, will be at the school from 10 a.m.-noon. Following a tour of the school, Denison students will recite speeches on the topic of non-violence for the guests. The Gandhis will then lead a short student parade - incorporating a Chinese dragon head students have created - to commemorate the Chinese New Year.

Maria Montessori, an Italian physician who founded the Montessori educational program, was a colleague of Mahatma Gandhi.

Denison Montessori is located at 1821 S. Yates St. The phone number is 303-934-7805.
