Interschool Bees Keep Growing

Students from eight Denver Public Schools are coming together for the Spelling Bee Extravaganzas in December.

Teams of 12 second through fifth graders will be representing Ellis, Lincoln, Lowry and University Park at the Spelling Bee on December 4th at Ellis Elementary School. Teams from Dora Moore, Knight, Smith and Stedman will have their Spelling Bee on December 5th, at Knight Fundamental Academy. Grade level teams from each school will rotate through four different spelling stations: the traditional spelling bee, a computer station, a Boggle station, and a spelling surprise station.

After the Spelling Extravaganza, participants will be treated to a pizza lunch and then have a chance to play together on the playground before returning to their schools. All children will receive a certificate and special spelling bee pin.

The events will take place at Ellis Elementary, 1651 S. Dahlia St., on December 4th and at Knight Fundamental Academy, 3245 E. Exposition Ave., on December 5th. Both events start at 10:15 AM. You may call Jenny Spampinato at 720-424-7746 for more information.
