Ellis Elementary And Krisana Park Host Eco-Friendly Event
The Mid-Century Denver neighborhood of Krisana Park is teaming up with Ellis Elementary School students and staff to host an eco-friendly home tour and parade on Sunday, September 16 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Proceeds from the event will benefit the arts program and the student council's recycling program at the school.
Partners for the Krisana Park Green Home Tour and Parade include Greenprint Denver, Denver Urban Gardens, Adobe Solar, Earth Force, Front Range, Earth Concept and more. There will be environmental information tables throughout the neighborhood during the home tour. Check-in for the home tour will be at 1404 S. Eudora. The parade will start at 2:00 p.m. and circle throughout the neighborhood
"We at Ellis are proud to be a part of the Krisana Park community and are thrilled to be included in the home tour again this year," said Ellis Principal Khoa Nguyen. "Last year, the proceeds Ellis received went to our visual arts, dance and music departments. This year, the proceeds will be shared between the arts departments and our new school-wide recycling program."
In keeping with the green theme, folks are encouraged to come by bicycle, light rail or bus, and are encouraged to bring their own water containers and to use the landfill and recycle bins in the neighborhood property. With thoughtful consideration and cooperation of all attendees, the event will be a zero-waste event.
Tickets for the 2007 Krisana Part Green Home Tour and Parade may be purchased online at www.krisanapark.com starting August 10 or at Ellis Elementary at 1651 S. Dahlia. Tickets are $10 when purchased ahead of time and $12 on the day of the event. Children under the age of 12 are free and must be accompanied by an adult.
