West Cowboy's Drama Club Presents: Café Teatro

On Saturday, April 7th at 7:00 p.m. the West High Cowboys Drama Club presents the performance art production of Café Teatro; a kaleidoscope of fantastic dramatic pieces.

The Cowboy's worked hard to get a Drama Club going this year despite the fact that the Theater Department was cut last year. With the administrations support the West High Drama Club lives on due to the financial support from the West High Alumni Association, Goodwill Industries of Denver, Cobiz, and the DPS A to Z Foundation.

Patrick Sanchez recruited Jose Mercado, the very successful theater teacher from North High School to work with the Drama Students at West. Jose Mercado has worked 3 days a week after school for several months with a small group of students to create the production Café Teatro. This is a first production with big heart and huge potential. The students have worked hard not only for their love of theater but to show the district and community how important the arts are to the high school experience.

Café Teatro will be performed in the West High Auditorium at 951 Elati Street at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday April 7th. The cost is $3 or a donation. Students with a DPS ID can get in for free. Please come to the show to support the Dramatic Cowboys and your belief that the arts are a very important part of the educational experience.
