Absolutely Incredible Kids Day Proclamation
WHEREAS, The success of Denver's children and youth is vital to the entire community; and
WHEREAS, The City and County of Denver considers the health and well-being of its children and youth a top priority; and
WHEREAS, Research shows that simple words of encouragement and compassion can make a difference in a child's life; and
WHEREAS, Camp Fire USA celebrates its annual call to action, Absolutely Incredible Kids Day on March 15, 2007, to encourage adults across the nation to write letters of love and support to children and youth; and
WHEREAS, Absolutely Incredible Kids Day is meant to honor children and youth and inspire positive adult-to-child interaction; and
WHEREAS, Absolutely Incredible Kids Day has touched more than 600 million people throughout the nation over the past 10 years; and
WHEREAS, The City and County of Denver wants our most precious resource - children and youth - to know that their City values them, believes in them, supports, them and wants to make sure they have every opportunity to help them achieve their goals.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOHN W. HICKENLOOPER, MAYOR of the City and County of Denver, Colorado, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby officially proclaim March 15, 2007, to be known hereafter as:
"ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE KIDS DAY"
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the official seal of the City and County of Denver to be affixed this fifteenth day of March, 2007.
