Denver East And Abraham Lincoln Advance To The Boys' 5A & 4A State Championship Games
The Denver East High School boys' basketball team outran Doherty High School on Thursday night in front of a large crowd at the Coors Event Center in Boulder and defeated the #1 seeded Spartans by a score of 72-51. The Angels avenged a loss to the Spartans in the first game of the year. East High used a blistering pace to outrun the Spartans and will advance to the championship game against Aurora Central. The 5A game is slotted for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, March 10, at the Coors Event Center in Boulder.
Abraham Lincoln High School also advanced to the 4A championship game by eliminating Broomfield High School by the score of 66-44. This is the first time that the Lancers have made it to the championship game in the school's history. Lincoln will face Ralston Valley in the 4A title game slotted for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, March 10, at the Coors Event Center in Boulder.
