Nightingale Award Nominees

Joseph Ortega, DPS School Nurse at Brown Elementary school, and Donna Shocks, DPS Nursing Services Manager, have both been nominated for the 2007 Nightingale Award.  The award is sponsored by the Colorado Nurses Foundation and the Central Colorado Area Health Education Center.  The Nightingale Award was established to recognize the contributions and professional excellence of Colorado's nurses. Both Donna and Joe have been committed to meeting the diverse health needs of the Denver Public School students.  Donna and Joe are exemplary role models, and demonstrate their dedication to the practice of school nursing through their excellence in human caring in their professional practice, and personal and community lives.

As 2007 nominees Joe and Donna will be honored at a recognition dinner March 31, 2007, at the Red Lion Hotel.

The finalists and recipients for the Nightingale Awards will be individually recognized at a black tie dinner, May 12, 2007 at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
