Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Military Ball Huge Success
The Denver JROTC Program conducted the Annual Military Ball on Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. This is the 114th Annual Ball for the Denver Program. More than 560 students from the nine Denver High Schools participated. Linda Castillo from West High School Center for International Studies was crowned the 2007 Military Ball Queen.
"This is indeed the social event of the year for the cadets," said LTC Perry Roberts, Director of Military Science for Denver Public Schools. "The male cadets were decked out in their cadet uniforms and the young ladies were resplendent in their gowns. The students danced well into the night and had a great time."
District leaders in attendance this year included Ms. Michelle Moss and Ms. Jill Conrad from the Denver Board of Education; Mr. Andre Pettigrew, Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services, Mr. Joe Sandoval, Instructional Superintendent and Ms. Kim Ursetta, President, Denver Classroom Teachers Association. Other key Denver Public Schools employees and several community leaders were also in attendance
