Live Nation Donates Over $29,000 To Denver School Of The Arts

Denver Public Schools and Live Nation are pleased to announce that Denver Public Schools and the Denver School of the Arts (DSA) is happy to accept the donation of $29,209 by Live Nation. Live Nation is donating a portion of its 2006 ticket sales to the Denver School of the Arts Concerts for Kids, and Save the Rocks.

"The Denver School of the Arts is an asset to the city of Denver and Denver Public Schools. Live Nation's support of the school is a tribute to DSA's students and their success," said Michael Bennet, Superintendent of Denver Public Schools.

"A great city depends on a strong education system backed by communitywide involvement," said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. "We are grateful to business leaders like Chuck Morris and Live Nation, active partners in our community whose donations support our public schools, children's health programs, and the victims of Hurricane Katrina."

The Denver School of the Arts is the only arts magnet in the Rocky Mountain region for middle school and high school students. In addition to a challenging and rigorous academic program, students engage in intensive studies in Creative Writing, Dance, Theatre, Instrumental Music, Stagecraft and Design, Video Cinema Arts, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music. DSA is committed to fostering a lifelong love of the arts in a culturally diverse, academically challenging environment.

Denver Public Schools and DSA are thrilled that Live Nation is honoring Denver's commitment to quality arts education and wishes to thank Live Nation for investing in the future of DPS students. "We're so thrilled that Live Nation selected DSA as a recipient for this gift. We will be able to use this amazing gift to fund additional programs to meet the academic and artistic needs of our students that are beyond the scope of the regular school budget," said Principal at DSA, Patti Bippus.

The check was presented to DSA by the former president of Live Nation's Rocky Mountain Region, Chuck Morris.
