King Soopers Adopts Ellis Students For Their Holiday Giving Tree

180 Ellis kindergarten and first grade students will receive Christmas early this year, thanks to the holiday generosity of King Soopers employees. Several King Soopers stores adopted Ellis students for their Holiday Giving Tree. The students' names were written on ornaments and hung on the Giving Trees. Employees chose ornaments and purchased gifts for the student named on each ornament.

The 180 students got to flip through glossy catalogs and store flyers to get ideas of Christmas toys and games. The emphasis this year was on FUN. Students who rarely receive a game or a toy got to choose something that looked like fun. In an age of television and video games, students were encouraged to choose something to help them move, think, laugh, and play.

The gifts will be delivered to Ellis on Wednesday, December 20th.

Again, the entire Ellis community would like to thank King Soopers and its employees for their kindness and generosity this holiday season in partnering with Ellis Elementary. Our students, staff, and families say, Thank You!

We would especially like to acknowledge and thank Shenia Ivey, a King Soopers employee, for making this holiday giving event happen.
