"One Book, One Denver" Author visits CEC
John Nichols, The author of the One Book, One Denver title Milagro Beanfield War, will be speaking to the creative writing students of Career Education Center Middle College of Denver H.S. (CEC) on Monday, November 13 from 9-11 A.M. on the Auraria Campus. The academic classrooms for full-time CEC juniors and seniors are located in the Community College of Denver building, following the Middle College Model as developed by the Middle College Consortium. Approximately 40% of these students are also enrolled in college courses at CCD.
Creative writing teacher Michael Farrimond is teaching the novel this semester and is excited about bringing a published author into his classroom. The CEC regularly features presentations by professionals in the career and technology fields, making this a particularly fitting event for the students choosing the creative writing class elective.
