Volunteers Make a Difference at Montclair Elementary School
In a tremendous show of community support, over 80 volunteers from Mellon Personal Wealth Management, Metro Volunteers, and the Colorado Thunder Birds hockey team joined parents and teachers to give the Montclair School of Academics & Enrichment an extreme makeover. Every year on the fourth Saturday of October, neighbors and volunteers come together for national Make A Difference Day - the most encompassing national day of helping others and a true celebration of neighbors helping neighbors.
A multitude of projects included the painting of 2 classrooms, the school lunchroom, the gym and hallway floors and the staff lounge. A team armed with scrub brushes and mops scoured all corners of the building, while another team did a clean sweep of the auditorium and playground. In a little over eight hours the volunteers left the school sparkling. Many thanks go to everyone who participated, especially Steve Wells and Doug Williams for coordinating the painting projects. Together we made a huge difference!
