U.S. Drug Czar Visits South High School To Announce Multi-Million Dollar Grant For Colorado On Wednesday, October 11
On Wednesday, October 11th, John Walters, Director of National Drug Control Policy and President Bush's "Drug Czar," will announce significant new Federal resources awarded to Colorado for substance abuse screening and intervention programs.
The programs funded by the new Federal grant will be implemented in medical settings, including school-based health clinics, in Denver and throughout the state to intervene early in substance use before individuals develop dependence or addiction problems.
Director Walters said, "With this major grant, we will partner with Colorado in a meaningful way to prevent the disease of addiction, particularly among our young people."
