The official dedication of Hallett Elementary School's new library will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2006 during the 11 a.m. newscast on Denver's 7. Local dignitaries, including Governor Bill Owens, Denver Public School Superintendent Michael Bennet, and City Council President Michael Hancock will be at the event. Denver's 7 Anchor Mike Landess, together with local dignitaries, will hand over the keys and hardhat to Hallett's Principal Roberta Mantione.

Denver's 7 has partnered with CollegeInvest and Denver Public Schools (DPS) to renovate two DPS classrooms. An internal committee was established by DPS to determine which schools would benefit most from a makeover. Based on that committee's findings, Hallett was selected to receive the second classroom makeover.

Construction to renovate the library at Hallett began on June 14, 2006. Since that time the library has been completely transformed to include new carpet, paint, shelving, circulation desk, computers, chairs, desks, tables and of course, books. A design team of local contractors and architects was formed to facilitate the makeover and more than 30 companies contributed to the project. Contributing sponsors are also highlighted on www.theDENVERchannel.com. In addition to the makeover, Denver's 7 partnered with the Universal Lending Foundation to provide brand new school supplies and backpacks for all the students and teachers at the school. CollgeInvest, a not-for-profit division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, is the Presenting sponsor of the 7 Classroom Makeover program. The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is also partnering with the project under the Advancing Colorado initiative.
